THE COUNTRY HOUSE
La Locanda del Borgo is situated in the village of Pietralunga (2400 ab.). Pietralunga is located in Umbria - the heart of Italy. It is the historical land of saints and pilgrims. This is a region of green countryside, high in the Tiber Valley (elev. 590m), where the climate remains mild throughout most of the year. Just a few miles away you enter the Tuscanian Valleys of Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. Pietralunga is an ideal location for travelling to through Italy's historical landscape. Follow along the wine and olive oil paths and artistic towns, where nature and culture come together, offering the marvels and history of the Middle Ages through the Renaissance. View forest covered mountains and lakeside resorts. Cross over hills and high plains, where village settlements are sparse and in harmony with nature.

La Locanda del Borgo is situated in this gorgeous setting, on the village outskirts, bordered by century old trees and wild flowers edges. La Locanda del Borgo was built in the 15th century. It was modified and enlarged in the following centuries developing into today's modern aristocratic country-house.

Restoration and refurbishment have redefined the interior spaces by respecting the original architecture and renovating with original materials. Material such as greystone and brickwork floors, robust oak and chestnut wood beams and antique fixtures have been used to create todays country house, maintaining the original charm as it was handed down over centuries.

ROOMS AND SUITES
Large, stylish and comfortable, all the rooms and suites are furnished exclusively with late19th century or early 20th century furniture. We offer the comfort and amenities of a contemporary hotel, with charm and privacy of a small boutique inn. The care for detail has been extended to selecting the finest quality beddings and heavenly smooth bath sponges. In-room conveniences include television, telephone, air drier and safe for valuables.
Three types of accommodation are offered:
Double rooms with French beds, warm wooden floor and amazing view;
Suites, with their unique atmosphere, including panoramic view and private balconies;
Apartments with more room available, lounge with fully equipped cooking top

THE RESTAURANT
Our chef offers a delightful selection of regional and Italian specialties.
The majority of the produce served in our restaurant is organic and comes from local farms. Our cuisine is an expression of the best the Umbrian region has to offer.

In preparing our traditional Italian and local cuisine, we use our finest local meats and fresh fish. Additionally our restaurant offers a wide range of vegetarian dishes. Our own private cellars offer you a broad selection of regional wines.
